Helping those in the eye of the storm!

Please help us help those in need!  We need fuel cost donations for the next trip, Dec.6th!
We are a non-profit organization whose main purpose is to help communities who have been hit by hurricanes on the Gulf Coast.  Our goal is to have trucks loaded and ready to go so that within 24 hours of local officials giving thumbs up for re-entry after a disaster, we can be there.

We provide canned goods, water, baby supplies, dry goods, and cleaning supplies to victims of hurricanes.

Wherever the eye of the storm passes, we will be there with relief.

So many times, smaller coastal communities are the hardest hit and get the least amount of attention from the media.  It will often take longer for relief to make it to these areas as well.  Founders Ben and Erin Akey are residents and natives of the Gulf Coast and know the area and know it's people and their needs.

We feel that the Gulf Coast can band together as neighbors in order to be prepared all year long.  Then, when a disaster hits, no matter where along the Gulf Coast, we can take care of our neighbors and ourselves and not have to wait for help.

Please help us help those in the eye right now.  You never know when your
community could be next.

Remains of the home of founder Erin Akey after the eye of Hurricane Katrina hit Bay St. Louis, MS in 2005

We rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses in order to sustain our program.   If one person in every Gulf Coast neighborhood held a food drive or fundraiser, the number of families we could help in their time of crisis would be amazing.

Please send donations as well as inquiries on how you can help in your area to:

From Hurricanes to Candy Canes!

Plans are currently being made to collect Christmas decorations and take them to Galveston the weekend of December 6th.  One thing founder Erin Akey remembers after losing her home in Katrina, was how they had to replace everything that first Christmas in Mobile.  It is hard both emotionally and financially.

Our goal is to collect 200 boxes of Christmas cheer for needy families in Texas.  Here is what we need to fill a box:

4 strings of lights
2 strands of garland
48 ornaments
24 candy canes

Donations can be dropped off at all Cellular South locations in Mobile and Baldwin counties now through December 3rd.

Thanks so much to Cellular South and 106.5 The Pirate for their support of this campaign!

If you want to help, but do not have time to make a box, or are not local to the Gulf Coast area, you can go to the top of this page and click the donation button and we will make a box for you!  $75 is all it takes to do a complete box, and every dollar helps a needy family!
